Judge rules statements made by murder suspect can be heard by jury

Statements made by a double murder suspect to a jail booking officer can be heard by a jury, according to the judge overseeing the case.

During a suicide screening, Fiebka reportedly told two corrections officers who interviewed him that he killed his mother, Alesia Wadsworth. The jail guard quoted Fiebka saying, “killed my mom with a gun today.”

In June, Nicholas Fiebka’s lawyer asked that those statements be kept out of court

The judge ruled that, while Fiebka had not yet been read his Miranda Rights by that point, the questions were “reasonably related to the jail’s administrative concerns”.

Fiebka is charged with first-degree murder in the November deaths of his mother and William Horwedel.
