Man guilty on three of four counts in 2022 Albany murder
A man accused of killing a hip-hop artist in Albany has been found guilty of three of the four counts against him on Thursday, according to the Albany County District Attorney’s Office.
Tyshaun Purvis was convicted of murder in the second degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree. He was acquitted of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree (intent to sell)
Purvis shot and killed Dominique Eley in Albany in July 2022. The shooting happened near North Pearl Street and Livingston Avenue in the middle of the day.
Eley performed all over the East Coast. She also created youth advocacy programs and gave back to the community.
Purvis is due to be sentenced on July 24.
