First witness called in Albany murder trial

A jury has been selected and the first witness called in the trial of a man accused of killing Hacief Oliver.

Willie Green, 41, allegedly shot and killed Oliver, 26, in November 2022.

The shooting happened on the 300 block of Second Street in Albany, between North Lake Avenue and Judson Street. It was the city’s 18th homicide of 2022.

Green pleaded not guilty in July to three separate charges, including second-degree murder.

A second victim in the shooting was hospitalized with injuries to his abdomen.

An Albany police officer showed body camera footage from right after the shooting.
