The state Department of Environmental Conservation and New York Water Environment Association Inc. are sponsoring a poster contest for middle school students.

The theme is “Create a Watershed Superhero.” Students are invited to create their own superhero to inspire New Yorkers to protect and conserve water.

Posters will be accepted through Jan. 12.
