Knox man accused of violent rampage

A man who lives in Knox went on a rampage, said investigators, and caused $7,000 in damage.
They responded to calls in the village of Knox for a man who smashed a mailbox and ripped it off the pole.
When deputies arrived, they say Hugh Barnes ran into the woods, and then lit two abandoned cars on fire in a nearby field.
He was captured on Knox Cave Road, not far from where all this happened.
Barnes is also accused of damaging several doors and windows at his landlord’s home.
He is now facing arson, burglary and criminal mischief charges.
An order of protection was issued for the victims.
