Lanesborough Police investigating armed robbery on Route 7
Lanesborough Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred on the side of Route 7.
The robbery happened just after 6 a.m. near the Lanesborough/New Ashford town line. It was near the former Brodie Mountain Ski Resort, according to NewsChannel 13’s media partners at The Berkshire Eagle.
The victim told police he was traveling south on Route 7 and stopped to check on what appeared to be a disabled vehicle. As he approached, a man exited the vehicle. Then, the victim said he was approached by another person from behind and felt what the victim believed to be a firearm pressed against his head, police said.
The suspects then robbed the victim returned to their vehicle and drove south on Route 7.
The victim described the vehicle as a dark colored older model pickup truck with some rust, a ladder rack and Vermont license plates.
