The $3.3 million revitalization project for Lark Street in downtown Albany began on Monday.

The work zone will be set up, and construction will begin on August 7. The project is expected to last through the fall.

The city will be restoring the pavement and ADA ramps. It will also replace curb ramps and sidewalks as necessary, and install high visibility sidewalks.

The project also includes adding string lights, park benches, bike racks and trash cans.

These improvements will drive business development and growth throughout Albany, Mayor Kathy Sheehan said.
