Leaders call for state Capitol to run on 100% renewable energy
Local leaders gathered in Albany on Monday to call for converting the state Capitol to run on 100% renewable energy.
Climate activists want Gov. Kathy Hochul to include a conversion of the building’s energy sources in the state budget.
Supporters also want the state to stop using fossil fuels from the Sheridan Avenue steam plant.
Legislation has already been introduced to convert the entire Capitol complex to 100% renewable energy in the next three years.
