Former principal in Guilderland dies after lengthy breast cancer battle

Former Lynnwood Elementary School Principal Alicia Rizzo has died, after a long and hard-fought battle with metastatic breast cancer.
Rizzo served as principal of the elementary school – located in Guilderland – for 11 years. She retired in 2021.
She was also one of NewsChannel 13’s “Today’s Women”, where she spoke to Elaine Houston about her battle with the disease.
Calling hours are Sunday evening at the Wynantskill funeral home, with a funeral service Monday morning at Grace Fellowship in Watervliet.
