The final semester at the College of Saint Rose in Albany began on Tuesday.

The college confirmed on Dec. 1 what NewsChannel 13 first reported the previous day – the school would shut down after the 2023-2024 school year.

The school first opened in 1920.

When the closure was announced, the school had 2,800 students, 47,000 alumni and owned nearly 90 separate buildings in Albany.

They are now working with other colleges on a teach out plan to help current students transfer.

Graduation is set for May 11.
