UAlbany and UConn are teaming up in the effort against extreme weather.

UAlbany announced it is partnering with UConn to improve Northeast power grid resilience.

This comes as extreme weather events are becoming more frequent.

The United States Department of Energy announced $4.6 million will go toward six projects that will conduct grid resilience analysis and modeling.

UAlbany and UConn received around $2.6 million total.

The goal is to strengthen and modernize the power grid.
