Sheila McGarvey lost her son and daughter-in-law – Shane and Erin McGowan – in the Schoharie limo tragedy.
Sheila relocated to Florida last year, where she now lives full-time. She spoke with NewsChannel 13’s Subrina Dhammi about how kind and compassionate her son was – her oldest child. She still holds onto him five years later.
“There’s probably some people that will say, like, why are we paying so much attention to these 20 victims five years later. We need to move on. It’s very hard to move on and it’s an everyday remembrance,” McGarvey said.
NewsChannel 13 has exclusive talks with these families that will air in a one-hour special planned for October 5 at 8 p.m. on My4 WNYA the day before the five-year anniversary of the tragedy.
That’s channel 4 on most cable systems, Channel 51 on satellite, and channel 51.1 if you use an antenna.
