A local mother is reminding everyone the importance of being aware of your surroundings.

That mom is sharing her story with NewsChannel13, after an uneasy encounter at The Crossings Park in Colonie.

It happened when she took her kids to play at the park last week.

She says a stranger was staring at her and her children in his car.

Later on, she looked back at her photos at the park and realized the person was in the back watching them the whole time.

She spoke to our Stella Porter to describe the encounter.
