Long Lake bouncing back from destructive floods

The Adirondack tourist town of Long Lake is back up and running again after heavy rain caused massive flooding, destroying homes, bridges and roads back in July.

13 Investigates reported over the summer the flooding took a huge hit for tourism in the Hamilton County town.

Summer visitors are one of the biggest sources of income for the people who live their year-round.

The businesses have made up for the loss and are preparing for the fall season, a spokesman for the town said.

All the roads that buckled have been repaired and are open again.

That includes the main road, Route 28N, which is one of the fastest ways to get to Long Lake, Newcomb and Blue Mountain Lake.
