Longtime Albany Police spokesperson honored as he leaves the force

A police officer marked the end of a career on Thursday.
A piping out ceremony was held Thursday for Officer Steve Smith, who is retiring from the Albany Police Department.
Smith worked as a patrolman in Rensselaer and Albany before serving as the Albany Police Department’s public information officer for more than a decade.
He will now work as a spokesman for the Albany International Airport.
