Man, 21, arrested for burglary and robbery in Watervliet
Watervliet Police arrested Marcos Delgado, 21, of Albany on Thursday for breaking into a home, threatening to harm a person, then stealing a cell phone and fleeing the scene.
This happened on September 22, when Watervliet Police responded to a call for a reported home invasion.
Police say Delgado entered a residence, threatened to harm the victim inside, then forcibly stole a cell phone and fled the home.
Authorities noted that Delgado was known to the victim.
He used the stolen phone to connect to home security cameras while officers were on the scene, said police.
Delgado was charged with second-degree burglary, third-degree robbery, and fourth-degree grand larceny.
Watervliet Police say he was located and arrested with the assistance of Albany Police.
Delgado was arraigned in Watervliet City Court and remanded to the Albany County Correctional Facility, and he is actively serving a two-year probation sentence for a weapons-possession conviction from April 2024.
