Man accused of stabbing police canine Norbi due in court Monday

The man accused of stabbing a Troy police k-9, is due in court Monday.
Norbi was stabbed 12 times, after responding to a burglary.

25-year-old Curtis Knockwood is facing more than a dozen charges.
He is being held in jail without bail.
It all started when police responded to the emerald greens neighborhood in south Troy, early Wednesday morning, for reported burglaries.
When police found Knockwood and tried to take him into custody, he grabbed Norbi and started stabbing him.
Knockwood is due in court Monday morning for a preliminary hearing.

And, as we’ve reported Norbi is okay and recovering at home.
Norbi was released from the hospital on Wednesday, 12 hours after being stabbed.
He received the same honor as any other officer injured in the line of duty.
Officers from troy and other local departments stood outside, clapping and cheering as Norbi was escorted into a police cruiser.
Norbi is 5 years old and has been a member of the Troy Police Department for 4 years.
