Man accused of threatening women with snow shovel

South Glens Falls Police have arrested a man for allegedly threatening women with a snow shovel.

Chadd J. Zerniak, 34, approached three women who were walking on Main Street on Monday, held a shovel over his head in a threatening manner and stated that he would “kill” them, police said.

One victim called 911 and Zerniak, whose address is unknown, put down the shovel and walked away, police said.

Zerniak did not know the victims. Police found him nearby and he was arrested.

While being processed at the police station, Zerniak allegedly became uncooperative, aggressive and kicked and broke a toilet, police said.

He was charged with felony criminal mischief and misdemeanor menacing. He was sent to Saratoga County Jail without bail because he has previous felony convictions.
