Man allegedly showed up to police station over 3x too drunk to drive
A Warren County man is accused of driving to the police station while more than three times over the legal limit for intoxication, according to State Police.
Police said Darren V. Alvaro, 47, of Brant Lake, distributed intimate images of a person without their knowledge or permission. He was arrested on Aug. 15, but he could not be processed because of a medical issue, police said.
Alvaro went to the Chestertown State Police station the following day to be booked on a charge of unlawful dissemination or publication of an intimate image. Police said troopers witnessed Alvaro drive his vehicle into the parking lot and observed signs of impairment.
He was arrested and charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated. Alvaro recorded a blood alcohol concentration of 0.26 – more than three times the legal limit.
He was issued appearance tickets and released to a sober third party. He is due back in court at a later date.
