Man arrested for stealing vehicle then driving while drunk
A man from Washington County is arrested, accused of stealing a vehicle and driving drunk.

Melton Bates of Granville was driving a vehicle after it was reported stolen, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said.
He is facing DWI charges and he refused to take a breath test.
He is also facing charges for a hit and run accident under investigation by state police, deputies said.
Bates was arraigned and being held in jail.
He is due back in court at a later date.
