Man charged with burglary, assault after Wilton home invasion

A Connecticut man is facing burglary and assault charges after a home invasion in Wilton.

Thomas A. Rivera, 50, of Naugatuck, entered the home without permission early Thursday morning and assaulted the victim with a knife, police said. This caused serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

Rivera was found outside the home. Another adult and two children were also home but uninjured.

An order of protection prohibited Rivera from being there.

Rivera was charged with burglary, assault, criminal contempt and endangering the welfare of a child.

He was arraigned in Wilton Town Court and sent to Saratoga County Jail in lieu of bail of $30,000 cash, $60,000 bond or $300,000 partially secured bond.
