Man convicted and sentenced for multiple crimes in Albany
A 35-year-old man will spend 75 years to life in prison – after being convicted of committing several crimes in the city of Albany.

The Albany County District Attorney’s office says a jury found Demetries Smith guilty of all charges in a seven-count indictment, including attempted murder.
He was accused of trying to kill a person during an attempted robbery on North Swan Street, on October 6 of 2021.
Smith, along with a co-defendant, was also accused of attempting to kill a second person a week later, on the 600 block of Livingston Avenue.
The next day, he was found nearby and had a loaded gun on him.
