Man in Montgomery County accused of leaving crashed car behind

A man with 23 license suspensions is accused of crashing his car into someone’s yard and leaving it.
Peter Mertens crashed in the town of Florida on State Highway 5S in Montgomery County.
Deputies found the car empty in a cluster of trees on someone’s property.
They traced the car to Mertens and took him into custody.
