Man killed in Mohawk motorcycle crash

A man has died after crashing his motorcycle in Mohawk, Montgomery County.
The crash happened on Benedick Corners Road in Mohawk, the sheriff’s office said. Rodney Hayes, 48, of Niskayuna was killed.
The motorcycle was driving north and tried to pass two cars going the same direction, deputies said.
One of the cars started to turn left, they said, and the motorcycle crashed into the car.
Hayes died at Albany Medical Center.
The car passengers suffered minor injuries because of the airbag deployment.
Speed and unsafe passing seem to be factors in the crash, investigators said.
There are no charges.
