A man is recovering after he was rescued from the porch roof of a burning home in Waterford on Sunday.
That man was taken to the hospital as firefighters rushed to put out the aggressive fire at 12 Third St.
The house is a total loss, the roof collapsed into the second floor. Neighbors say fire crews put this out quickly, but the home sustained extensive damage.
The whole second floor is charred. A man crawled out onto the roof and waited as firefighters rushed to rescue him. NewsChannel 13 is told he was the only person home at the time.
That man was taken to the hospital and there is no update, police say, on how he’s doing.
The county fire investigation team is now looking into a cause.
