Man with lengthy criminal record in Albany arrested again

A man with a lengthy criminal history – who was just released from state prison last month – is under arrest again.
Marquis Dixon, 25, is accused of illegally possessing a handgun.
Police got a call about a man with a gun on Orange and Dove streets around 9:15 Tuesday evening.
When detectives approached Dixon, he was getting out of a car and ran away, they said. He was arrested nearby. A 9 mm gun was also found nearby.
Dixon has been in and out of jail since 2016. His robbery conviction as a teenager was often used by justice reform groups looking to raise the age in cases where teenagers were tried as adults.
