Maple Leaf train line reopens after train derailment in Amsterdam

Fallout continues Monday from the train derailment in Amsterdam last Friday.

The governor announced the Maple Leaf Service on Amtrak is running again.

She sent out a release Monday saying that the Maple Leaf Service is now running between Albany and Toronto.
Amtrak service remains canceled between Buffalo and Albany on the Empire Service train line.
A spokesperson from Amtrak tells us that service is being adjusted as conditions continue to improve.
The derailment happened near the Schenectady County and Montgomery County lines.
13 freight cars of 157 cars derailed on Friday morning.
Route 5 eastbound was shut down from Friday morning through Sunday.
