Massachusetts man admits to arranging to meet 10-year-old for sex
A Massachusetts man has pleaded guilty to traveling to the Capital Region to meet a 10-year-old for sex.
Martin Connearney, 34, of Lenox, admitted in federal court on Wednesday that between April 6, 2022 and May 5, 2022, he communicated with a person to discuss and plan the trip to the area to engage in sexual contact with the minor, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
On May 5, he drove to a location in Columbia County, where he was met by law enforcement and arrested.
Connearney faces a maximum term of 30 years and a fine of up to $250,000 when sentenced on May 30.
