Mechanicville man admits to child sex abuse, faces 29 years in prison
A Mechanicville man is expected to be sentenced to 29 years in prison after admitting to raping a child.
Ryan M. Jewett, 31, pleaded guilty in Saratoga County Court to course of sexual conduct against a child and rape.
An investigation by the Mechanicville Police Department revealed that Jewett had contact with the child from the age of 9, the Saratoga County District Attorney’s Office said.
The child had told authorities about the abuse. Among the evidence police discovered during the investigation were digital images documenting the abuse of the child, prosecutors said.
Jewett is set to receive20 years of post-release supervision and he must register as a sex offender.
In addition, Jewett is facing charges in Albany County Court of patronizing a prostitute and possession of a sexual performance by a child for allegedly solicint a 13-year-old to have sex with him for money and he had numerous images of pornography on his cell phone.
