Melrose apple orchard closing permanently

As local apple orchards open for the season, a Rensselaer County orchard is closing for good.

Lakeview Orchards in Melrose posted about the closure on its website.

The owners said with their ever-changing schedules – and as they grow closer to retirement – they decided to step back and slow down.

They add they have been in contact with the Albany Regional Food Bank to donate to those who are in need this holiday season.
