Memorial service planned for Tamarac senior who died after brain cancer battle

A memorial service is planned for Evan Franz, 18.
The Tamarac High School senior died after an almost four-year battle with brain cancer.
He played on the Tamarac baseball team, and was an honorary member of the Siena Saints basketball team. He was also a huge Boston Red Sox fan.
A moment of silence was held for Evan at the Tamarac basketball game Tuesday night.
Calling hours are Sunday afternoon at Our Lady of Victory Church in Troy. A funeral will be held Monday morning.
Evan’s parents are asking people who come to wear school colors or even a team jersey to make Evan smile.
