Two men in Delmar are accused of trying to steal an ATM.

William Kennedy, 51, and John Carroll, 54, were caught just after midnight Monday morning at Jim’s Tastee Freeze at 58 Delaware Avenue.

Both men were charged with criminal mischief, grand larceny and conspiracy.

Carroll was released on his own recognizance, while Kennedy was sent to the Albany County Jail without bail. That’s because he already has two felony convictions, investigators told NewsChannel 13, so the judge is not able to set bail in this case.

Both suspects are due in court on Thursday.
