Men sentenced in Schenectady shooting death

The men charged in connection with the killing of an innocent bystander in Schenectady in 2020 have learned their fates.

Warren Cusaac was sentenced in Schenectady County Court to eight years in prison. His co-defendant Dasaun Parson was also sentenced to eight years, the Times Union reported.

Both men pleaded guilty to attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon in the shooting death of Ieasha Merritt.

Merritt was at a Fourth of July celebration when several people opened fire. She was shot and later died.

Another defendant, Xzobiaire Green, was sentenced to six years on a gun charge after an attempted murder charge was vacated, the Times Union reported.
