Middleburgh man arrested for having a stolen motorcycle
New York State Police say they arrested John E. Stuerke, 46, of Middleburgh on October 8 for being in possession of a stolen motorcycle.
Police say on August 3, they responded to Apple Food and Grocery in Middleburgh for reports of a motorcycle fire.
Investigation revealed the fire was accidental, and Stuerke had the motorcycle at the time of the fire, said State Police.
Authorities say further investigation determined that the motorcycle involved in the fire was stolen from Schoharie, and the owner of the motorcycle did not know it was stolen until police contacted them.
Police say Stuerke was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.
He was arrested and processed at State Police of Cobleskill and released on an appearance ticket returnable to Middleburgh Town Court on October 22.
