Missing girl leads to rape charges in Cohoes

Cohoes Police are arresting a man on multiple charges, including rape, after starting an investigation of a missing 13-year-old girl.

The girl’s family reported her missing, last Friday night. Earlier in the evening, she was picked up by a Catskill resident, police said.

Michael Oquendo, 26, was arrested after patrolling and reviewing surveillance footage of the city.

When officers pulled him over in a traffic stop, they found the 13-year-old victim inside, with him, said police.

More charges are expected.
