A Montgomery County man has pleaded guilty to the murder of his wife.

On Monday, Michael Darling pled guilty to shooting and killing his wife, Kristine Darling, in February of 2019. He originally told 911 operators she had committed suicide.

While the District Attorney was preparing for the case to go to a grand jury, Darling fled to North Carolina.

While he was there, Darling was arrested for allegedly possessing pipe bombs back in May. These charges were quickly followed by an indictment for Kristine’s murder.

Darling faces 17 years in prison when he is sentenced in October.
