Montgomery County Sheriff's Office catches man considered armed and dangerous The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office has captured a wanted man who was considered armed and dangerous. Robert Myers Jr. was picked up by sheriff's deputies, along with members of the St. Johnsville Police Department and New York State Police.

A Montgomery County fugitive was captured on Monday after police had threatened to use a dog to search his house.

Robert Myers Jr., 47, had failed to show up for sentencing on June 13 after pleading guilty to attempted criminal possession of a weapon. Police issued a warning about him last month.

Investigators received information that Myers had returned to his St. Johnsville residence in the last couple days. Police confirmed that he was hiding in the residence, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

Officers from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, St. Johnsville Police Department and New York State Police surrounded his house.

Myers initially refused to come out but surrendered after police said a K-9 was going to search the residence.

Myers was taken to Montgomery County Jail where he was being held for arraignment.
