U.S. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand announced Tuesday more than $1.2 million is going toward fire departments across the state.

The funding will be used for protective gear, training and supplies to emergency personnel for 13 departments.

Gillibrand said she will keep working to ensure they have what they need to continue defending our communities on the front lines.
