Fear and panic went through Marissa Balch’s mind when she first heard about police being called to her children’s school.
Balch has two boys in the Mohonasen School District who are 5 and 8 years old. She says she would do anything to protect them.
“I grabbed my keys, and I was getting in my car, ‘cause come hell or high water, I’m getting in the school, and I’m getting my kid. I don’t care. I’ll take a bullet. That’s your job as a parent.” said Balch. “As a job as a politician and a lawmaker, it is their job to do something. Because what is it going to take?”
Balch is still on edge, she explained. She’s thankful no one got hurt.
