National Grid is preparing for potential damage from the remnants of Hurricane Nicole.
First Warning Meteorologist Paul Caiano says the storm will not be anywhere near hurricane or tropical storm strength when it hits the Capital Region. However, there will still be some heavy rain at times, and a bit of gusty wind.
National Grid’s plan includes:
- Stand by crews in the areas that are expected to be the most impacted by rain.
- An open line contact between National Grid and emergency crews to keep them updated.
- Social media posts, text messages, and emails throughout the weekend to keep customers updated with safety information.
- National Grid is advising customers that once the storm passes to stay away from fallen trees and power lines as they can create electricity and potentially harm you.
