National Work Zone Awareness Week begins

State transportation officials are kicking off National Work zone Awareness Week. The safety campaign runs from April 17 through April 21.
New York State Thruway Authority and Department of Transportation officials announced the kickoff.
The goal is to encourage drivers to drive safely in work zones and around emergency and hazard vehicles working on the side of the road.
The theme for 2023 is, “You play a role in work zone safety. Work with us!”
