New boat-launch opens in Saratoga, honors life of former town supervisor

The Town of Saratoga opened a brand-new boat launch park Friday to pay respects to a beloved local leader.
The park is located just off Rte. 4 along the Hudson River and is a revamped version of an existing boat launch.
A new picnic pavilion and lighthouse have been built there as well to honor the life of former Town Supervisor Thomas Wood, who passed away in July.
Wood served in Saratoga’s local government for over 40 years and served as the supervisor since 2004.
