New details emerge in North Adams voyeurism case

NewsChannel 13 has obtained the police affidavit regarding a disturbing case of voyeurism in Berkshire County.

We’ve learned Johnathan Girard, the owner of J Star Gymnastics in North Adams, was working at a gymnastics academy in Waterbury, Vermont the week of July 10.

Girard is accused of having images and videos of children from the bathroom. In some cases, children were changing in and out of their leotards, officials said.

The ages of the children ranged from five to 17 years old. In total, about 50 children were at the gym that week, according to the affidavit.

Girard’s fiancée told police she discovered the images while looking into a wedding venue on his laptop and confronted Girard.

All images were from the public restroom close to the entrance of the gym, according to police. Girard denies recording anyone, and claims someone else in the gym put the images on his computer.
