New illegal gun tip line launched in Albany County

The Albany County Legislature and the sheriff’s office launched an illegal gun tip line on Thursday morning.

People who want to make a report can call anonymously at (518) 655-7860.

It’s the latest campaign in the county to reduce illegal firearms in communities.

The announcement was marked by the appearance of a CDTA bus, promoting the tip line, which could also result in a $500 cash reward if the call results in the seizure of a gun.
