Schenectady Police is opening a new indoor firearm training facility. Both the Schenectady mayor and the police chief call the new facility state-of-the-art.
The project has been in the works since 2014, Chief Eric Clifford said.
Their officers deserve the best training, and it is imperative to have an indoor facility to help prepare officers for high-pressure situations, he said.
The Schenectady mayor was highly complementary of the new facility, and said it will continue to help Schenectady Police.
They can also use the new facility to train on previous situations and learn what could have gone better in the scenario, Clifford said.
