There’s a new community center coming to downtown Albany, complete with an indoor skateboard park.

The park is part of an $18 million project being developed by the nonprofit group Noteworthy Resources of Albany which is part of a bigger project by Rebird Development. The park hopes to be a hub for community and support for people of all ages.

The executive director of Noteworthy Resources, Tatiana Gjergji, said, “I’m very proud to be spearheading this community organization involving so many people to not only help them learn how to skateboard, but help them with resources with mental health, business seminars, a platform for people to connect and network.”

The new space will be coming to the 900 block of Broadway later this fall.

Some funding comes from a $125,000 nonprofit grant from the state.
