Mark Bailey has been named interim chief of the North Adams Police Department, NewsChannel 13’s media partners at the Berkshire Eagle report.

Bailey, 41, holds the rank of sergeant. He has worked for the department full-time since 2005.

This comes after Jason Wood was relieved as chief last month.

Wood was put on paid leave, and is the subject of an internal investigation.

He will continue to be paid until his contract expires in June.
