New law requires large warning labels at Albany County gun sellers

Warning labels will soon be required wherever guns are sold in Albany County.

The county legislature passed a local ordinance requiring all gun stores, dealers, and vendors in the county to display a sign at their businesses. The sign warns of the risk of suicide and accidental death.

This warning sign will have to be posted near the entrance to Albany County gun stores according to a new ordinance.

The law specifies that the font must be bold and sized at 26-point font at least.

The law goes into effect in about 30 to 60 days.
