New law to help Schenectady County homeowners with property tax rebates

Property owners in Schenectady County will soon see some relief when it comes to their tax bills.
Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara’s bill, authorizing Schenectady County to grant a $250 taxpayer assistance payment to people with qualifying star or enhanced star exemptions, has been signed into law.
Homeowners who qualified as of December 31 of last year will receive a check.
There is no word yet on when those checks will start going out.
