A new partnership aims to get kids in Albany outside the house, and avoid the summer slump.

CDPHP and Grassroot Givers have launched first of their kind mobile libraries.

They will pedal around to neighborhoods and events each Friday, and share books.

The goal is to promote literacy and book ownership.

To date, Grassroots has shared more than a half a million books with people in the Albany area.

A bonus – the bikes will also be equipped with toothbrushes, toothpaste and educational information on oral health.
